The Lakeshoremen are pleased to announce their 2008 staff for brass, percussions, visual and guard captions. This team brings a new level of abilities and focus to the corps, and will add solid foundations to the program.

John Hartwick joins LSM for the 2008 season as the Brass Caption Head. Mr. Hartwick brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the LSM staff and membership. John started his marching career in Saginaw Michigan with the Northern Aurora Drum and Bugle Corps in 1989 and finished his marching career with the Blue Devils Drum and Bugle Corps from Concord California in 1995, winning the DCI World Championship along the way. He has also served as the Brass Caption Head of the Americanos Drum and Bugle Corps.

John is a professional trumpet player who continues to perform with local symphonies, orchestras and independent performance ensembles and spent 2007 on tour with the Temptations. John is also a member of the faculty at Henry Ford Community College where he teaches Music Appreciation and other courses.

Brennan MacFarland returns to LakeShoremen for the 2008 season as battery arranger and percussion caption head. I would like to personally thank Brennan for the excellent work he's done for our organization over the years. I look forward to hearing his latest offering in the coming months.

Matt Dudek joins the staff, arranging for LSM pit. Matt has been a member of LSM during the 2005 and 2006 seasons. He is also a current member of the Glassmen drum and bugle corps from Toledo, OH. Matt will work with the pit throughout the winter and spring rehearsals to ensure that our membership get the best educational experience possible heading in to the competitive season.

Jennie (Kline) McDugald will be at the helm of the LSM Guard for the 2008 season as Co-Caption Head. Jennie was a marching member of LSM in 2007 and brings a great sense of energy and experience to the position for the upcoming season.

Mrs. McDugald has served as the Caption Head at Waterford Kettering and Waterford Mott High Schools from 2002-2006 and has been on staff at Farmington Harrison High School from 2005 to present. Jennie started her marching career in 1999 at Waterford Mott and extended her experience in the WGI ranks with Third Edition from 2003-2005. Third Edition was an Independant Open Class Finalist at the Winter Guard International Championships in 2003 and 2005.

Billy Kidd joins LSM for the 2008 season as Visual Caption Head. Billy has been active in the marching arts for over 20 years. Mr. Kidd will be serving as the Drill Designer and Visual Caption Head for the 2008 season. He is a former marching member of the Cavaliers Drum and Bugle Corps and also served on staff with the Cavaliers from 1997-1998. A short list of his DCI/DCA/MCBA teaching and design experience include the following programs:
