Lakeshoremen Honor 5 Year Members

The Lakeshoremen honored 3 Five-Year members for making the committmment of the time and talents to the organization during the 2007 Banquet. These members have made tremendous contributions both on and off the field by providing instruction, creating arrangements and by serving on the Board of Directors. Karen Sawaya has been an active part of the Lakeshoremen, lending her guard performance and teaching skills to the group. Her steady, postive attitude and sense of humor has been a great influence on the many people who've worked with her. Richard "Barney" Carlson has shown his committment to the Lakeshoremen, even commuting from Chicago for rehearsals and performances. Barney has also contributed to the Lakeshoremen by serving as the Treasurer and unofficial Quartermaster, keeping the drum equipment at his home for several years during the off season. Brennan MacFarland has been the core of the drum line, serving as a performing member, arranger and instructor. His talent and dedication has been evident in all that he's done with the Lakeshoremen. From all of the Lakeshoremen, past and present, we congratulate these members for their accomplishments and their support in developing the Lakeshoremen organization.
